RelationshipSkills for Young Adults

An ERQ™ Workshop for College & High School Students

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the most miserable people in the world are those who are emotionally alienated, disconnected from others, and alone. The most truly, happy, fulfilled people are those who have close, quality relationships that endure through the good times and bad. We believe, beyond any doubt, that satisfaction in life – a sense of completeness and fulfillment – is found in quality relationships.

This program is designed to help teens develop their ongoing social interactions with other people in ways that are mutually beneficial. These can be romantic, familial, educational or occupational. We work with teens to help them understand that, while they can’t always choose the people with whom they have to relate, they can choose how they interact with those people.

Relationshipology helps teens to increase their emotional intelligence and improve their relational competence so that they’re better equipped to build and sustain healthy, enjoyable relationships with friends and family, and with other adults in their lives – including teachers, coaches and employers. This isn’t a program about love and romance. It’s about interacting in healthy ways with all the people in their lives.

“In the fields I have studied, emotional intelligence is much more powerful than IQ in determining who emerges as a leader. IQ is a threshold competence, but it doesn’t make you a star. Emotional Intelligence can.”

Warren Bennis (leadership pioneer, author and researcher)

CHR has delivered Relationshipology in high schools across Northwest Arkansas. This innovative program can be offered in a variety of formats to fit with classroom schedules. We can even make arrangements for students to come to one of JBU’s  facilities in Rogers or Siloam Springs.
